Description

Who's ready for some football? This is an excellent mini poetry lesson that would allow you to engage students with a text on a topic they love - football! This classroom-tested product is written as a mini unit with essential questions, suggestions for use, questioning, 4 constructed response prompts, links to related products, handouts, and common core links.

What is a poetry single study? Poetry can be difficult, and many students are reluctant to even try it. However, with my poetry singles students are given the opportunity for success because the material is presented in a guided, step-by-step process that builds confidence from beginning to the end. It's a quick, yet powerful resource to add to your tools for teaching poetry toolbox.

Student Experience: Students will enjoy reading a song as poetry. They will annotate and then break down the text for theme and theme development. When finished with the poetry study, students will complete a creative football-themed "craftivity."
