What educators are saying

Great resource that I will use for years to come! I first used the Continents booklet with my middle school Geography class. I love the options available and how easy it is to find an option when teaching multiple grades. Thanks!
This bundle of resources was a hit with my students! They loved the first one, and when I told them we'd be doing more, they were very excited. Highly recommend!

    Description

Are your students ready to start researching, writing reports, and creating finished projects? This Places Bundle includes the interactive projects that will help you in teaching geography and research to your students this year! With these social studies and science projects, students will learn about the planets, continents, regions of the United States, provinces and territories of Canada, AND write state reports on any of the 50 states.

Each project includes a list of recommended books and websites to get you started, as well as complete answer keys. All projects can be completed independently but also lend themselves to group work! Students working in groups can collaborate to create the finished product.

    Included in this Bundle download:

    • Planets Fact Fan Research Project - This solar system STEAM project is just what you need to guide students through the research of the planets. In just one download, teachers can print a no-prep project that includes all planets (and Pluto), as well as clear note-taking sheets that guide students through the research. This project integrates report writing, the reading of informational text, and science. It includes complete answer keys to keep things as simple as possible for the teacher!

    • Continents Project and Craft - Research Report for the 7 Continents - This no-prep social studies project helps students research the 7 continents, take notes, and publish their report. Students will be engaged as they learn about the continents and create the interactive 7 Continents Fan. This project works well as an independent project or for group work. Students in groups of 7 can each study one continent and collaborate to create the finished product.

    • Regions of the United States - Research and Project for the 5 Regions of the USA - This Regions of the United States project guides students through the research of the 5 regions. Students will be engaged as they learn about the 5 regions and create the interactive Regions of the USA Fan. This project works well as an independent project or for group work. Students in groups of 5 can each study one region and collaborate to create the finished product.

    • State Report Research Project - Templates for all 50 States - This United States research project includes templates for all 50 states, making it easy to assign each student a different state (if desired.) In just one download, teachers can print a project for each state, as well as a common note-taking sheet that guides students through the research. The State Report is only 3 pages in length (giving students the confidence to complete it with excellence) but is packed with information.

    • Canada Project - Provinces and Territories Research Report and Craft - This project guides students as they research, take notes, and publish their report on Canadian provinces and territories. It is perfect for writing centers, an extension to your social studies unit on Canada, or for practicing report writing. Students can work in groups and collaborate to create the fan, or the teacher can assign each student a territory and create a whole-class project that lives in the classroom library. All 10 provinces and 3 territories are included in this one download!

    Process:

Students use the provided note-taking sheets for research. Then, they transfer the notes onto the fans. The report pages (in the fan format) match the note-taking worksheets exactly, making the publishing process simple. This project gives students the opportunity to research, note-take, label maps, publish, cut and color. When done, students have a resource that can be used again and again!

    This project is ideal for:

    • practicing note-taking
    • introducing research
    • for center work
    • fast finishers
    • independent projects
    • group work
    • as a supplement to your social studies and science units

❤️ "This was an amazing resource and extremely well developed. I used it while my class was remote and it worked perfectly. Some had the printed versions and several used Easel. Both worked fabulously. Thank you!! Highly recommend!" Mrs. Mooney Makes

❤️ "My students loved doing this project, and I loved that it gave them structure, educational rigor, as well as a “fun” activity (coloring, cutting, and assembling the fans). This is a fabulous alternative to the open-ended “research project” recommended by our textbook. I’ll be using this every year, for sure!" Christa D.

❤️ "This was the perfect end of the year wrap up for planets. My students loved putting their knowledge and research skills to the test to tell their peers all about their chosen planet." Rachel Z.
