Place Value Lessons: Fidget Spinner Factory

This is a 6-10 day math unit that focuses on place value understanding using the context of a Fidget Spinner Factory. Lessons were created using Contexts for Learning by Cathy Fosnot as a reference. The lessons include hands-on investigations, contexts that are accessible to students, and daily structures. Structures include number strings, gallery walks, count arounds, and math congress.

All worksheets are included as well as sample numbers for partnerships to use as they get started.

Everything can be easily adapted to fit lower level learners as well as enrichment groups. Can be used as a whole class unit, small group instruction, or adjusted to fit math centers.
