Description

This huge packet has everything you need to introduce & reinforce place value concepts! A breakdown of the packet's contents is as follows:

~ Mini-Posters:
1) Place Value Family (5 posters)
2) Number Words
3) How to write numbers in expanded form,
4) How to use inequality signs to compare numbers

~ Place Value Matching & Sorting Cards (includes header cards)
1) numeral cards for a large sample of numbers between 10-99,
2) base 10 cards,
3) number word cards,
4) modified expanded form cards (example: 2 tens, 9 ones)

~ Number Detectives Math Center
Kids use clues (ex: "I have 4 tens and 3 ones") to determine what number each clue card is describing. They are given mini place value mats to write down the number clues as they are given. First person to get to the end of the game board wins.

~ Building Blocks Math Center
The Lego man's 100 block tower is missing some blocks! Kids use 2 spinners to make a 2-digit number. If that number "block" on the hundreds board is blank, the player can write it in (each player's dry erase marker is a different color). When the board is complete, the player who wrote in the most numbers wins!

~ Feed the Gators! Math Center:
Players divide themselves into two teams. The dealer spins the more/less spinner, then lays two 2-digit number cards on the mat. The group decides which inequality sign to use. If the dealer spun "more", the team with the bigger number gets to feed both number cards to the gator on their team's mat. If the dealer spun "less", the team with the smaller number feeds the cards to their gators. The team with the most cards when time runs out wins.

~ Candy Shopping Spree Math Center:
Players spin a number and move forward that many spaces. Players "buy" the candy on that space by writing the price on their ledger. As the game moves on, players buy more candy and add 1 & 2 digit numbers on their ledgers. The first person to reach the cash register with a correct running total wins!

~ I'm Thirsty! Math Center:
Players draw a 2-digit number card, then spin the spinner (2 options: 1 more/1 less spinner, 10 more/10 less spinner). If a player correctly follows the directions on the spinner, he/she can advance 1 space on the game board. The first player to reach the lemonade stand wins!

~ Chocolate Chomp Math Center
Each player starts with 9 chocolate bars (each bars is made of 10 chocolate squares) on their mats. Players take turns spinning a 2-digit number and removing that many chocolate squares (in groups of ten) from their board. The first person to remove all the bars from their board wins.
