Picture/Text Puzzle Graphic Organizer

This graphic organizer is designed for students or teacher to create. On the left side, pictures are drawn representing parts of a text. On the right, text is written. Then, the puzzle is cut apart and students must read the text to match to the picture!

This is a very quick and simple template that is ideal to have on hand!

I like to use this activity at the end of a novel. I assign pairs each to a chapter. They must select 6 passages of 1-2 sentences and copy from the chapter. Then, they draw each text chunk. Finally, all of the pairs take turns doing each others' puzzles as a review!

This includes a small 6-puzzle per page doc as well as larger 2-puzzles per page with chapter numbers included.
