    Phonics Intervention Minis - From Skill to Story Is a Science of Reading-aligned, research-based, decodable, small group reading intervention resource that has everything you need to teach a skill from isolation into the context of reading.

    This resource is perfect for reading interventionists working with small groups, or for reading intervention tutoring.

    With a scaffolded approach, these intervention worksheets help you take your students from learning a phonics skill to reading words with the skill in the context of a (decodable) story.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️This resource was updated on 7-31-23. The sentences and passages are now fully decodable, including high frequency words, aligning this resource to the Science of Reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

    WHAT'S INCLUDED-

    Each word family has its own two page spread that incorporates letter sound fluency, blending and reading words, word mapping, fluency tables, and reading words with the target phonics skill in the context of simple sentences and an engaging, decodable story.

    For each intervention activity, students will:

    Page 1

    • point and say letter sounds (that will be used in the targeted skill words)
    • blend and read cvc words (with the targeted word family)
    • Word map (tap, map, and graph) words with the targeted word family
    • Read the skill words fluency table three times

    Page 2

    • Read the skill words in the context of a short, decodable sentence. (Read each sentence three times for fluency)
    • Read the skill words in the context of a a short, engaging, and decodable story. (Read the story three times for fluency).

    Important Note: The sentences and passages involved in the intervention activity use ONLY the targeted phonics skill words (CVC), 10 pre-reading sight words, and decodable high frequency words.
