Description from Steam:

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a "classic courtroom adventure series that has sold over 6.7 million copies worldwide and is finally here. Become Phoenix Wright and experience the thrill of battle as you fight to save your innocent clients in a court of law. Play all 14 episodes, spanning the first three games, in one gorgeous collection. Solve the intriguing mysteries behind each case and witness the final truth for yourself!"

Learning:

The game lets students make critical deductions and inferences with fun and compelling cases. Using evidence and facts, students can learn how to build their argumentative writing from the ground up, justifying the importance of each evidence used from a vast list of items.

Teacher Notes:

  • The best cases to do this would be The First Turnabout, The Lost Turnabout and Turnabout Memories. Guides can be found on Strategy Wiki. Other cases require days of investigation, which is just looking for evidence and not as effective for learning purposes of using evidence.
  • The Great Ace Attorney will also work for this booklet, but vocabulary will require senior levels of secondary students and antiracism priming.
  • Grade 8 and under: The First Turnabout
  • Other Grades: The Lost Turnabout and Turnabout Memories
  • GitHub offers an option to unlock all chapters without playing all the cases for the technologically savvy: Emiyl/PWAATeditor

  • The most practical way of playing this game is students work in groups to gather evidence and discuss the case.
  • Projecting the game screen for other students to view as students play is a great way to share this with a large class
  • Having the computer face the class to let students gauge each other's reactions to the story and gameplay will be more engaging
  • Teacher may pause after each objection for students to fill in the booklet
  • Some students may be selected to voice act the characters (rotate as needed)
  • Groups can be selected to lead each new cross-examination, where they have to find contradictions in witness' testimonies
  • The gameplay will take around four classes.
