In this article, students will read about the four stages of matter, basic information on how matter changes between those stages and basic characteristics of each phase.
This reading consists of one article written at 4 different reading levels. Each level contains the same essential concepts and vocabulary words, but as the levels go up, articles become slightly longer and more linguistically complex. Article all look the same and students do not know what reading level they have, since we use emblems to differentiate the reading levels. You can find these emblems in the top left corner of each article. Leaf is for 4-5th grade reading level, Magnet is for 6th grade reading level, Magnifying glass is for the 7th grade reading level and the planet is the 8th grade reading level article.
