- where it lives (in a bowl, cage, or back yard);
- the dangers it faces and how it protects itself;
- where it came from in the wild;
- its life-cycle, characteristics at birth, and how long it lives;
- how it helps or harms other life on the planet;
- why we choose to keep this animal as a pet.
