Persuasive Text Writing Unit A Summer Christmas is Best

This pack includes over 180 pages of resources to teach one Persuasive Text writing unit, based on the original model text A Summer Christmas is Best, in your junior primary classroom!

I have included a model text (differentiated to three levels) and matching text maps (two levels) to use with the persuasive text framework; as well as an innovated text, to teach over a period of four weeks.

Some aspects are colour coded blue - beginning, magenta - middle, emerald – ending.

Resource includes:

• pre/post assessment (cold/hot task) idea with marking rubric

• model texts - Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 version

The slides are hyperlinked and offer four weeks of activities, with four days of activities hyperlinked to each of those weeks.

2. Boxing Up a Persuasive Text, Leanguage Features of a Persuasive Test - tense, pronouns, high modality words, emotive language, rule of three

This unit is Talk4Write 'friendly' but it is essential that you have accessed training (professional learning) in the T4W process to use this unit in that capacity so as not to compromise the integrity of the T4W pedagogy.
