This no prep "Person I Admire" essay helps students walk through the writing process so that they can write a successful descriptive essay about a person they admire. Help students celebrate a person they love for Grandparents' Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or other special holidays while also improving their writing skills.

This scaffolded writing activity includes:

  • 2 Brainstorming pages - students are provided with sentence frames, descriptive words, and other guidance to help them with their brainstorming
  • 2 Rough Draft pages - with extra directions to help students organize their writing in a way that makes sense
  • A Revising and Editing page - for students to use to revise and edit their rough draft
  • Final Draft Paper - includes empty boxes that students can use to draw a picture of the person they admire
  • Grading Rubrics - to make grading easier on you
