This zip file contains materials for middle school science lessons to introduce the basic features of the periodic table, including the properties of metals, non-metals and metalloids. The unit was designed for 6/7th graders in NYC.

2 SMARTboard .notebook lesson presentations (26 slides total)
1 homework assignment
1 quiz
1 printable (and readable!) periodic table for students


Presentations serve as lesson plans that guide the teacher through the entire lesson. Presentations include links to related YouTube videos to increase student engagement (I can help you use YouTube videos in your class, even if your network blocks such sites, just ask).
