What educators are saying

My students loved using this resource on the promethean board. We completed it as a class and then it worked great during math stations as well. Very engaging!

Description

This download is a PROMETHEAN BOARD flip chart to be used with an interactive whiteboard or computer with the Activinspire program. Make sure you have the Activinspire program in order to use this download.

Patterns can be seen everywhere and are repeated in a logical way. They can be made from objects we use constantly. As children understand patterns, they become able to understand what comes next, make logical connections, and use reasoning skills. This flip chart activity can be used to teach and reinforce patterning. The activity is self-checking as the objects will fit only in the designated spots; which makes it perfect for independent student centers as well as whole class guided practice.

The patterns in the flip chart get progressively more difficult as the students complete each page. In the beginning they will expand the simple AB and AAB patterns; later they will create the more difficult patterns shown on the page. There are 30 pages with three different activities on each page for a total of 90 activities. Students will also have a chance to make their own patterns with the included "Make Your Own Patterns" pages.

The following patterns are included:

  • AB
  • ABC
  • AABB
  • ABB
  • AAB
  • AABC
  • ABCC
  • ABBC
  • ABCD
