Past and Present Picture Sort

This picture sort is a great activity when students finish with their work early, to do on the board as a class, or copy and paste the pictures into a Smartboard activity. This works great for remediation or for introducing the topic. It also works well for students who may not test well. Have them do the activity in front of you and use the results as a test grade.

Simply, cut out the pictures and labels and laminate the cards. You can also print a copy for each student and have them cut and glue the pictures under each correct column. Have your students do this as a group project and glue it to a poster. Hang the posters in the hallway for parents to see.
