Description

This Parts of Speech Pack is full of fabulous resources for teaching students about nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.And best of all it is aligned to the Common Core! The parts of speech pack contains posters, worksheets, word sorts, anchor chart ideas, and a fun review game that will help students master the parts of speech. The worksheets start out at a basic level for each part of speech, and become more detailed and challenging. Here is a break down of what you get with this parts of speech pack:

For Nouns:
Rock star Noun Poster- Great to have hung up for student reference for students. My anchor charts are rotated, but I keep this up all year long.
Find the Nouns- focuses on simply identifying nouns.
Picture Perfect Nouns- focuses on the students coming up with, drawing, and labeling the nouns.
What Kind of Noun? - Focuses on students sorting the nouns by person, place, or thing.
Common or Proper- Focuses on sorting and writing common nouns vs. proper nouns.
Pronoun Party- Focuses on choosing correct pronouns in a sentence.
Reflexive Robots- Focuses on choosing correct reflexive pronouns in a sentence
Make it plural Poster- Great Resource to hang up in the classroom. Focuses on the rules of making nouns plural.
Perfect Plurals- focuses on adding s and es to words.
Stick with It- focuses on making nouns plural when they end in y or v (requires craft sticks and includes a list of words to use).
Irregular Plural Nouns- Focuses on irregular plural nouns (as the title states).
Make it Plural- This word sort focuses on making all nouns plural (regular ones, ones that end in y or v, and ones that are irregular). Great tool for assessment! I laminate the cards for durability and use this in a small group setting or literacy center.

For Verbs:
Rock star Verb Poster- Great to have hung up for students to reference. My Anchor charts are rotated, but I keep this up all year.
Find the verbs- focuses on simply identifying verbs.
Animal Action- focuses on the students coming up with, drawing, and labeling the verbs,
Super Sorting - Focuses on students sorting the nouns and verbs.
It’s all in the Past- Focuses on putting verbs into the past tense form, including when you must double the consonant, Ex. hopped
Put it in the Past Poster- Focuses on rules of putting verbs in the past tense (including when to double the consonant).
Irregular Past Tense Verbs Poster- Focuses on Irregular past tense verbs.
Blast from the Past- Focuses on sorting past tense verbs by their ending sound (how you pronounce them) Ex, skipped sounds like it ends with a t.
Abra Cadabra- Focuses on irregular past tense verbs.
Put it in the Past- A word sort (great for assessing) that focuses on putting all verbs in the past tense. Very similar to the Make it Plural sort in the nouns section. Great for a small group activity or literacy center. I laminate the cards for durability.

Adjectives:

Describe It- Focuses on students using adjectives to describe pictures.
The Art of Adjectives- Focuses on students choosing appropriate adjectives to fill in the blanks of sentences.
Noun or Adjective? - Focuses on sorting nouns and adjectives.
Working with Adjectives- Focuses on students reading a passage, identifying the adjectives, and then coming up with their own. This one is a little more challenging and works best if you go through it together.

Adverbs:

Write About It- Focuses on students using a given adverb and using it in a sentence.
Out of this World Adverbs! - Focuses on students choosing appropriate adverbs to fill in the blanks of sentences.
Verb or Adverb? - Focuses on sorting verbs and adverbs.
Working with Adverbs- Focuses on students reading a passage, identifying the adverbs, and then coming up with their own. This one is a little more challenging and works best if you go through it together.
