What educators are saying

These low-performance students enjoyed using the booklet which they created while completing tasks. Thanks!
I'm using this wonderful resource with my intervention students. They love it! WHat a fun and easy way to teach/review parts of speech!!

Learning Objective

Students will define each part of speech. Given a part of speech, students will identify it within several sentences.

Description

Are your students struggling with remembering the parts of speech and how each is used? This parts of speech flipbook contains 15 pages. It features nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, and conjunctions. If you focus on one per day, this flipbook will last for seven days!

Best of all, this print-and-go resource serves two important purposes! To begin, students take a close look and interact with each part of speech as they complete multiple practice activities. After defining each term and listing example words, students complete a worksheet where they find the targeted item within sentences. When students have completed the entire flipbook, they have the perfect reference tool that they can refer back to throughout the school year!

EACH TAB OF THE FLIPBOOK FEATURES TWO PAGES:

  1. The first page in each section is designed to be a teaching page. Students write a definition and create a word splash of example words. They also highlight the appropriate words in the sentence at the top of the page.
  2. On the second page of each section, students complete a practice worksheet with 9 or 10 sentences. On this page, students identify the given part of speech within the sentences. On many of the worksheets, there is an additional task. For example, on the adjectives practice page, students circle each adjective in the sentence, and they also draw an arrow between the adjective and the noun it modifies.

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID...

  • Jackie B said, "This is a great resource for my students! It served as a great tool for reviewing each type of grammar, and it also is a great tool for them to have as something to look back on when working and they do need to remember what they mean/do in a sentence."

  • Mrs. O Knows said, "We worked on this weekly throughout the first trimester as we reviewed and introduced parts of speech. It is now a resource that students use daily as we work on mentor sentences and their own writing!"

  • Emily L used this with fifth-grade students and said, "My students and I love how this flipbook is organized! We began each lesson by taking notes and identifying the part of speech in the example sentence. The practice that follows after each note page is great for immediate practice."

  • Shelby M said, "I have used this every year that I have taught third and fourth grade. It is a great interactive review activity for the different parts of speech. The kids use it as a study guide as well!"
