Description

In this lesson, students complete close readings of Lyndon B. Johnson's speech "We Shall Overcome" and Abraham Lincoln's "Second Inaugural Address." Then, they synthesize their understanding of the readings and write a short analytical essay requiring them to analyze the arguments in each speech.
