What educators are saying

I had a good shell for this project but needed a bit of a push. This resource helped me to get the project to where I wanted it to be for my class.

Description

This packet guides students through a project where they learn the responsibilities of parenting through caring for a 5-lb flour "baby" for a 3-day/overnight period.

The bundle includes:
1 lesson plan and 1 packet with:
*RUBRIC/Grading Elements
*What a Baby Costs Estimator/Actual Costs
*Flour Baby Reflections
*Teacher sign-in sheet
*Baby care log (24 hour period)

Before the project, you will need to purchase 1 bag of flour for each student. I book computer lab time so students can find and print a photo of a baby to use on their flour baby, and give them time to affix the photo and wrap the bag in plastic wrap to avoid accidents.

PLEASE NOTE: There is 1 in class day to make the flour babies, and the rest of the time in the 3 day period is the students independently carrying the flour babies. The flour babies return to class on day 3 to complete the project.
