Description
This Google Doc can be used in Google Classroom or made into another format to use elsewhere. It includes 3 pages.
The first page goes over the directions for the assignment with a rubric and has a review information about what Muscular Strength is, its' benefits, and compares and contrast to Muscular Endurance.
The second page has the Muscular Strength exercise choices. There are 4 choices and students are directed to choose at least one. Two of the choices involve YouTube video workouts, one choice is a Gopher Active@Home link, and the last is to use their own strength workout routine if they already have one established. At the end of page 2, there is a space for students to upload a picture of their workout space and equipment. Equipment can be home-made or regulation weights.
The third page has 7 questions to review the material.
I have also created a YouTube video with instructions and demonstrations of how to do the assignment, what equipment to use or make, and information about each of the choices. Click here for a link to that video.
Sample Google Classroom Instructions: (Feel free to modify to fit your class)
1. Watch the Teacher Introduction Video of the week (YouTube link below). This week's challenge: What is Muscular Strength, which activity will I choose to practice muscular strength exercises, and how is it different from Muscular Endurance?
2. Read and Learn about MUSCULAR STRENGTH on Page 1
3. Try one (or more) of the Muscular Strength Activities on Page 2
4. Take a Picture of your exercise space and equipment on Page 2 (4 points)
5. Answer the 7 questions about Muscular Strength on Page 3 (14 points)
6. Turn in by Sunday at 8:00PM (2 points)
Grading Rubric:
Take a picture of your exercise space & equipment and post it to your assignment = ___/4 points
Answer the 7 Questions = ___/14Points
Turned in On-Time - Turned in by Sunday at 8:00pm = ___/2 Points
Total = ___/20
