"Owls" Common Core Aligned Math and Literacy Unit - ACTIVboard EDITION

My Owls Math and Literacy Unit Plan includes lessons, activities, crafts, reproducible worksheets, reading lists and much more!

Your kids will love learning about owls, and while they do, they will also be learning and practising important literacy and math skills.

The unit starts with a great original sing-a-long story about an owl. I wrote it to the tune of "There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly," so your kids will be able to sing with you. I have also included guitar chords for the musically inclined.

Then, it's time to dive right into learning about owls with non-fiction reading resources.

There's a great K.W.L. chart in the shape of a barn, a wonderful paper-bag owl craft with cut-out patterns, a picture sequencing exercise, rhyming activity, math exercises, and much more!

All of my unit plans are designed using Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
