Description
This set includes 20 inferencing riddles that are connected to the Common Core and can be used as an independent activity to practice inferencing. The students read the riddle, infer an answer then can check their answers by scanning the QR code using a tablet or smart phone. I have included a section where the students are required to add 2 new facts learned from the non-fiction animal article. These would be great to use at a center or during a daily 5 round. This is a great way to connect reading and science!
Most of the QR codes bring you to the National Geographic website where the students can learn more about the specific animal. This is a great way to expose your students to non-fiction reading. Qr code reader is a good QR code reader that can be used to scan the codes. Look for the QR code reader that takes your students directly to the site. It is available in the App Store and Google Play store.
Please make sure that if your codes are not working at school that you check with your IT person to make sure that Youtube is not blocked at your school.
There are 20 animals in this activity which include birds, mammals, invertebrates, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
