    Description

This ordinal numbers bundle includes two engaging hands-on themed centers and differentiated no-prep ordinal numbers worksheets. There is a cute, costumed kids resource that is great for using around Halloween and a toys themed set that makes a fun center near Christmas time. Neither set mentions a holiday so they can be used anytime during the year. *Additional themes may be added.

Your students will enjoy practicing with colorful manipulatives. The differentiated ordinal numbers worksheets offer cut-and-paste and coloring opportunities to help students stay engaged. This resource offers practice with both numerals and number words and is presented in color and black and white.

    This resource includes:

    • Costume Kids Center and two recording sheets
    • Four fill-in-the-blank worksheets
    • Two cut and paste worksheets
    • Two coloring worksheets
    • Picture and Numbered Cards for Assessing
    • Toys Center and Recording Sheets
    • Four Cut and Paste Worksheets
    • Two Coloring Worksheets
    • Two Short Answer Worksheets
    • Picture and Numbered Cards for Assessing
    • Teacher Notes

Teaching ordinal numbers helps students understand the position or order of things or objects. In daily life, students will use this skill in conjunction with understanding dates on a calendar (his dentist appointment is on the 3rd; her soccer game is on the 10th). Students encounter ordinal numbers at school referring to positions in a line or their seats in the cafeteria. This skill is especially helpful for learning things like story sequencing and procedural writing.

    Ways to use this resource:

    • Prepare the colorful manipulatives to use as an interactive math center.
    • Provide students with a black and white copy to use at their seats for independent practice.
    • The differentiated ordinal numbers worksheets can be used for review or reteaching.
    • Work with students one-on-one to give an informal assessment using picture cards.
    • Students can use the coloring worksheets as an early finishers activity.

Here's what other teachers are saying about these activities:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The students enjoyed the different ways the ordinal numbers were presented and the fun activities.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A great way to reinforce ordinal numbers and make it more interactive for my first graders!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a great way for me to differentiate for my lower level second graders that needed extra practice with ordinal numbers. The activities are engaging and fun!

Looking for more interactive math practice?

Count the Room is a great way to incorporate movement! This bundle includes twelve thematic sets, which increase in difficulty as the year progresses. Seasonal sets are also sold separately.

These Digital Graphing Centers for Google slides with moveable pieces give students a “hands-on” experience while they are working on their math skills – just like using manipulatives in the classroom!
