Description

I use this Order of Operations PowerPoint lesson and resources to teach my students how to solve expressions brackets, braces, parentheses, and multiple operations.

I have changed the traditional "PEMDAS" acronym and write it a different way for my students (see the anchor chart in the preview images). It has completely changed their understanding of this topic! They no longer think that multiplication always comes before division and addition always comes before subtraction: a common mistake that even adults make.

  3. Color by Number Mystery Picture
  4. Parentheses Practice Page
  5. Two Constructed Response Questions with Rubric
  6. Order of Operations Quiz
