Operations With Decimals Playlet

Students will turn a word problem into a short interactive play. (This activity is based on research into word problems as part of a Master's program.) Students must use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of decimals as part of their word problem scenario. A narrator says "Freeze" at specific moments in the play. The audience figures out the answer before the play continues. This activity can be adapted to a large variety of math topics and is cross-curricular with English Language Arts.
