What educators are saying

My student brought up wanting to make ooblek. I had never heard of it until he brought it up and it tied in perfectly with our state of matter lesson. These worksheets really got him thinking and engaged.
Oobleck is always fun! I wish it had been a little more explicit in the directions, because I usually shy away from these types of activities so I didn't have a lot of prior knowledge it doing this.

Description

Students will create a strange substance called Oobleck and experiment with its properties. Through hands-on experimentation, watching a demo video, & reading an article on non-Newtonian Fluids, the students will discover that Oobleck has properties of both a liquid and a solid depending on the pressure applied. Your students will then write an argument, from all the evidence presented, to prove this claim. This activity is a fun and engaging way to meet a very important NGSS/Common Core Standard.
