Individualize your math comments using this Ontario report card comment bank! These Grade 7 math comments were compiled by two intermediate math teachers hoping to individualize their comments and make them useful for parents and students. Organized by math strands and expectations, this google document is easy to use. Now that we no longer need to comment on every strand, this resource colour coded by strand so that teachers can keep track of which strands they have commented on and show variety.

What you need to know:
This resource may not be for everyone! This resource is NOT organized by reporting terms or levels. It does not repeat the same comment with different qualifiers, because we believe you could do that yourself. At On the DL, we believe that Math comments should be individualized and show the strengths of even the most frustrating students. Every board, every school, and every teacher follows a different long-range plan; organizing comments by term is not realistic in resource creation.
Because this is a WORKING DOCUMENT, we will continue to add to the comment bank each year. Wanting to limit generalized comments means that comments change as different activities are completed in class. Even if you have not completed the same activities, you can simply edit the comment to fit an activity you completed in class.
This document was designed to be used all year. When you download this product you will find a suggested method of organization, through colour coding.
