On se rencontre ! Est-ce que tu... ? | Trouve quelqu'un qui (FRENCH)

Personal questions to help your students get to know one another while speaking French! This resource includes 4 activities perfect for start of the school year or new semester, after the winter break and after the summer break/la rentrée as ice-breaker questions to get to know one another!

Similar to other "Trouve quelqu'un qui" bingo cards, however, I ensured that the focus was on grammar and practising speaking by asking questions. Moreover, the ideas are equitable for students who may not have done anything exciting over the break. The activities are separated into le présent indicatif and le passé composé and have colour and black and white options.

How to use this resource:

• Print a class set of one of the no-prep versions of trouve quelqu'un qui bingo cards
• Have students walk around the room asking everyone questions and finding peers who fit the descriptions
• Students will ask and answer using full sentences following the lesson on Comment poser une question and Comment répondre à une question
• Answer the questions orally to generate conversations
• You can circulate and use the discussion as formative assessment The questions are all personal and can be answered with OUI or NON

The grammar associated with the questions is aligned with the key grammar concepts as they are introduced throughout the semester in a typical Grades 8-9 Core French class or Grades 6-8 French Immersion.

Some sample questions include:

Est-ce que tu as un chien ?

Est-ce que tu aimes les mathématiques ?

Est-ce que tu as mangé de la pizza ?

Est-ce que tu es allé.e au cinéma ?
