Description

Join this little boy and girl on their trip to the zoo and see all the wonderful animals they find! This is a fantastic, 40-page picture story for students to practice the words "oh", "look", and "see". Students enjoy the pictures and guessing what the characters see before hand while teachers like the repetitive practice for students to easily pick up these high frequency words.

  • child-friendly story and graphics
  • written for beginner E.S.O.L. (ELL) and primary students

Suggestions on How to Use It:

  • just for fun
  • as a guided read aloud (especially for prediction and oral language skills)
    • 1. Tell your students and/or child(ren) that the boy and girl in this story are going on a trip to the zoo. 2. Read the first few pages. Then, stop to point out the little piece of what they are looking at on Look! page on the far right side. All the way to the right there is a tidbit of the next picture. Ask what animal is coming next. 3. Continue to read to see if the prediction was correct. 4. Continue step 1-3 for the remainder of the text.
  • partner and/or whole class reading practice
  • independent practice (homework, classwork, etc.)
