Description

"Ode to Teachers" by Pat Mora might seem like an oddly self-serving poem to teach in class. However, this is a great poem for teaching main idea. It's also a great poem to use with other teachers when practicing new strategies and techniques.

To facilitate a conversation with students or as part of professional development, I have included main idea questions, multiple choice questions, and a visualization extension activity (with rubric). Everything is included in a fillable .pdf and is Google Drive ready!

Since this resource contains Google tools, TPT will create a folder in your Google Drive where you will find all parts of this resource.

BUT WAIT! This poem is part of my 11-12 Poetry Main Idea Bundle, which includes 5 poems for helping emphasize main idea! To buy each poem individually would be $15, but buying the bundle will save you $3, which is like getting this resource free! The 11-12 Poetry Main Idea Bundle includes:

SAVE MORE with the 9-12 Poetry Main Idea Bundle, which includes 5 more poems and saves you more than three times the money! Buying 10 poem resources individually would be $30, but this bundle saves you $10, so it's like getting 3 poem resources for free. Includes:

Continue planning for 11-12 with this Poetry Inference Bundle, which includes:
