Description

Poetry Writing! Writing Odes is FUN! Writing Odes will engage all students. Writing Odes will help student hone their creative writing skills, problem solving skills, writing fluency, imagery, description and knowledge of test assessment poetry terms.

Students will watch youtube examples of Odes and will discuss what elements go into writing an Ode.

To write an Ode, students need to choose a subject they are passionate about. Tips for writing are given as well as ideas for a writing plan. Example poems are written in free verse, but writers may choose to rhyme.

An Exit Pass for student assessment of the lesson is available in both Word and PDF format.
