Ocean Animals Rhyming Match

This is a fun Ocean Animals rhyming matching activity for your literacy centers! It provides students with practice on the important phonological awareness skills of rhyme recognition and rhyme production. Students match the rhyming pictures and then complete a cut & paste worksheet - great for assessment! These cards can be used in small group or as an independent center. These cards are great for pre-k students learning to recognize rhymes, kindergarten students learning to produce rhymes or 1st grade students for RTI! Use them in conjunction with a "Commotion in the Ocean" or "The Rainbow Fish" book study too!

For rhyme recognition, you can arrange the cards yourself and have students identify which pairs rhyme. If you want students to produce rhymes have students play as a Memory style game, each time they turn over a card they have to brainstorm words that would rhyme with it! 27 rhyming pairs are included.
