Developed by a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and used in 1:1 therapy, group therapy, home practice and classroom settings (mainstream and education support settings)
- The midline is an imaginary vertical line down the middle of our body and crossing it, means to use or legs and arms on the opposite side of that imaginary line (e.g. left arm, reaching across to pick something up on the right hand side of our body)
- Not automatically crossing the midline can impact the development and consistency of hand dominance (bossy hand v helper hand)
- Signs that your child / student may not be crossing the midline
