What educators are saying

This is a great resource to use with my students and check on what they know about numbers and their one to one counting.

Description

Fun, interactive practice students need to master numbers 1-20, counting to 20 (kindergarten common core standards K.CC.B.4 and K.CC.B.5) with digital summer ocean-themed Boom Cards. An engaging way for students to build counting skills - an essential building block for mathematics.

Students enjoy the interactive nature of the cards and these Boom cards require NO PREP making them easy for you. Students simply access the Boom card deck via the internet on a laptop, desktop, iPad, smartphone, tablet, or interactive whiteboard and complete the summer numbers to 20 digital task cards.

Students count the different ocean creatures in the ten frames and click on the correct number (on the seashells). The deck is self-checking so students receive immediate feedback and the deck plays in random order so each play is different keeping interest high.

If students choose the correct number, a correct “ding” sound will be heard, the numbered seashell will be circled in green, and students will be automatically taken to the next card in the deck.

If students choose an incorrect numbered seashell, an “oops” sound will be heard and the seashell will be circled in red. Students can then try again and click/tap another numbered seashell then click the Submit button again.

Please see the preview file for a playable sample.

You receive 20 digital Boom Cards, one card for each number (1-20).

Perfect for independent practice, distance learning, math centers, whole or small group instruction.

What are Boom Cards?

Boom Cards are interactive, self-checking digital task cards that require NO PREP (no printing, cutting, or laminating required)!

They offer an easy way for teachers to assess important skills and a fun way for students to practice these skills.

They are perfect for whole group instruction on an interactive whiteboard or small group instruction, center activities, individual practice on an iPad, laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for modern Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires.

For security and privacy, adults must have a Boom Learning account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with "Fast Pins," (a form of play that gives instant feedback to students for self-grading Boom Cards). For assignment options that report student progress back to you, you will need to purchase a subscription.

If you are new to Boom Learning, you will be offered a free trial. Read here for details: http://bit.ly/BoomTrial.

Not sure if your browser is modern enough? Try a free Boom Cards deck first.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
