Description

Count and Build number sense mats will help your students build number sense and 1:1 correspondence in a way that is fun and engaging.

There are 21 unique number sense math mats included in both color and blackline. There are a variety of mats that can be used all throughout the year. Each mat has kid-friendly visuals that will help students practice identifying numbers represented in different ways.

The number mats included are no prep, print, and go. Simply print the number sense mat, slip it into a page protector, or laminate it. This resource can be used in whole group, small group, or independent centers.

This activity includes Count and Build mats for:

  • Numbers 1-5
  • Numbers 6-10
  • Numbers 11-20

This will allow you to differentiate with ease.

Numbers on the mats are represented by:

  • dice
  • dominos
  • ten frames
  • numerals
  • tally marks
  • tens and one statements
  • base ten blocks

Numbers 1-5- dice, ten frames, numerals, tally marks, dominoes, and mixed review

Numbers 6-10- dice, ten frames, numerals, tally marks, dominoes, and mixed review

Numbers 11-20- dice, ten frames, numerals, tally marks, tens and ones, base ten, and mixed review

Students will need small manipulatives such as plastic cubes or mini erasers to build towers representing each number on the number mats. Students can build two towers for the teen numbers: one for ten, plus extras.
