  • ACTIVITY #3: Balanced or Biased - students analyze two different short newspaper articles - one is balanced and one is biased - the focus is on how a person’s bias would inform vocabulary they use and the tone they create in their writing, as well as the impact this has on the reader’s thoughts and emotions.   • ACTIVITY #4: Media Bias in Nothing But The Truth - close read, annotation, and analysis of Jennifer Stewart’s newspaper article on the incident in class.
  • ACTIVITY #5: Media Bias in Nothing But The Truth - part 2: analysis and recreating of shortened version of Jennifer Stewart’s article. As well as a discussion of things that go “viral” and our responsibility as consumers.
  • ACTIVITY #6: Ted Griffen + Political Messaging - a close read, annotation, and analysis for Ted Griffen’s messaging throughout the end of the novel and determining who it would most appeal to.
  • ACTIVITY #7: Narrative Epilogue  - the novel ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, students get the opportunity to create an ending.
