What educators are saying

This is my 2nd year teaching and I still feel like I am finding my footing. Resources like this really help make things more manageable for me. Thank you for sharing!
Love using these in the classroom. It works amazingly, the students quickly knew to get back to work.

Description

I am passionate about using my projector in new and innovative ways to make my life easier. When I have a problem, I always go to my board for a solution. I am tried of shushing my kiddos. They can't tell when I am getting mad about it until I am ready to blow a gasket! I have made this monitoring system for them to have a visual of efficient their noise level is. The idea is that the board holds the power. Why? They are really motivated to impress the board. Plus, this takes all the stress off me. It is not my job to shush them. The board does it!

First, we discuss what noise level is appropriate. There are slides to click on to set the expectation and even practice the noise level.

I have included the following noise levels:

Voices Off

Whisper Voices

Partner Voices

Group Voices

Speaker Voices

Teacher Time Voices

Once we get started, the board is happy. I keep my presentation clicker in my pocket and press buttons discretely. If the kids get too noisy, one push of a button causes the dial to go up and a noise to redirect the class. If they get their noise back at an acceptable level, I click the back button to go to previous slides. This makes the dial go back to a happier place. When you are finished, click the stop sign and there is a message from your board, either praising their accomplishment or directing them to work harder next time. If you are on the red slide and advance one more time, a warning flashes and "danger" sound effects come on.

This has been a wonderful motivator for my students. I hope your class enjoys it as well. Thanks for checking out my store!

*Update! I have added some different sound options to this set. There are four noises to choose from. Each set comes in fun, playful, quiet, and buzz sounds. This allows you to choose the sound that works for your room and your group of kiddos.

**Second Update! I had many requests to create an editable version so that teachers could change the language of the PowerPoint. This set now includes a version that has blank text boxes to allow you to change the language if you would like.
