No Prep Elementary Music K-5 Sub Plans BUNDLE: For Non Music Subs

Sub plans for non-musical subs that will last 3 or more class periods! Each of these sub plans can be completed in any classroom setting (even students' homerooms), and need minimum materials (pencil, crayons, and one optional cut/paste sheet). Answer keys are included to help the sub.

Each of the three packets is divided into grade bands of 4th/5th, 2nd/3rd, and K/1st. You could easily use packets for different grade levels than what I have listed (e.g., use the 2nd/3rd packet for 1st grade). Here are the topics in each set:

Set 1

4th/5th: Aaron Copland bio, comprehension questions, crossword, word search

2nd/3rd: Color by note sheet, musical math challenges

K/1st: Musical opposites (loud/soft and fast/slow)

Set 2

4th/5th: Treble clef color by line/space notes, treble clef mystery message challenge

2nd/3rd: Instrument family reading passage, comprehension questions, word search, "find the instrument" sheet

K/1st: One sound/two sound words (quarter and eighth notes)

Set 3

4th/5th: Medieval music reading passage, crossword, instrument riddles, design-your-own coat of arms

2nd/3rd: Comparing "Line" in Art and Music

K/1st: The 5 Voices (talk, whisper, sing, shout, think)

There are 41 student pages total. Answer keys are included where applicable. All topics are based on the Ohio music standards, which correlate to the National music standards. Many of these topics are also areas that I do not always have time to cover--I figure that if I'm going to be out of the classroom, students can learn a little about music history and composers while I'm gone!
