Neolithic Revolution Debate Guide

This activity is centered around the question: did the Neolithic Revolution do more harm or good? By exploring this questions, students develop a deeper understanding of how this seminal moment in history changed the world forever.

The front of the worksheet included five quoted sources and has students summarize the text in their own words and decide if it is better evidence for team "good" or "bad".

The back of the worksheet is a debate preparation guide. After being assigned which side of the question they will defend, students list out which arguments and supporting pieces of evidence they intend to use. The bottom of the worksheet has a variety of sentence starters students can use during debate to support their own team's arguments or refute the other team's.

This worksheet could also be adapted to support a summative essay, rather than a debate.
