Native American Arts: Quillwork
- PPTX
Description
Students will learn about the traditional and unique art form of Porcupine Quillwork. Quillwork pre-dates colonization and the introduction of beads. It is unique to North American Indigenous peoples. The lesson teaches a simple stringing method to make a necklace. Students can use real quills or create imitation quills. Teachers can decide what is best for their students.
Real porcupine quills can be purchased at many Native American Art & Craft stores, just google. I also provide a link in the ppt to a Native owned store.
This is a power point lesson which you can print as a PDF if desired.
