Narrative Analysis and Writing Unit (Understand by Design Lesson Plans)

This product is a complete set of lesson plans covering narrative plot structure, types of conflict, making inferences, and understanding archetypal characters. This unit and the sample plans included are optimized for 8th grade but can easily be scaffolded for lower middle level grades.

With this file you will receive:

-Unit Plans - (Both PDF and editable PPT file) You will receive a full six page set of lesson plans tied to the Common Core State Standards. A PDF is included if you wish to use the plans and sample lessons as writen. An editable PPT file is included in the case that you wish to change and modify the plans for your class.

-Sample Lesson Idea Calendar - I have also included the lesson ideas that I use to teach this unit. Lesson plans are laid out on a 30 day calendar with resources listed. Most stories and novel excerpts mentioned in my calendar come from the 8th grade version of the Common Core Coach book (ISBN: 978-1-61997-435-7) but can easily be replaced with similar resources you already have and love.
