NO Prep - Taj Mahal - WebQuest - A Symbol of Eternal Love - Valentine's Day

The Taj Mahal, situated in Agra, India, is a breathtaking testament to eternal love. Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this iconic white marble mausoleum stands as a symbol of undying devotion and architectural magnificence.

With this WebQuest students research and report on the following aspects:

• Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal
• Design and Construction
• Engineering the Taj Mahal
• Taj Mahal Complex
• Taj Mahal Over the Years

There are then two additional writing tasks:

• Students explain in their own words what the Taj Mahal is and why it was built, and then
• Students answer this question: What do you believe contributes to the enduring fascination with the Taj Mahal and its captivating backstory?

• Take a look at the PREVIEW and the THUMBNAILS to get a good idea of what the tasks are like.
• An Answer Key is included.
• This website is used to complete the WebQuest.

How to use:
Independent Research Project / WebQuest

Introduction to India OR as final project on the country: Students could complete the task independently and submit as part of a research project on the country.

Valentine's Day Project

The Taj Mahal is one of the most iconic symbols of eternal love. Why not learn more about it on Valentine's Day.
Homework

Set the task as part of normal homework on the topic.
Subplan

Use the resource as a subplan.
Group Work

You could also split the tasks, for example, one groups researches and reports on the Culture and Traditions of India.
