This is a downloadable PDF file of 30 worksheets to supplement learning in the treble and bass clefs, lines and spaces, and high vs. low.

This resource offers a gradual learning process that takes the student step by step to ensure pitch-reading accuracy. Use it for short assessments, sub tubs, and packets for home over holiday breaks.

All activities require no preparation and are mostly one-page assessments. Just print and give to your students.

  • High or Low? Put a circle around the highest pitch, 
put a square around the lowest.
  • High or Low? Put a circle around the highest pitch,

  • Line or Space? Determine if the notes on the staff are on a line or a space. Circle your answer.
  • Line Tracer: Trace the note on the line, then circle the number where the note is placed.
  • Space Tracer: Trace the note on the space, then circle the number where the note is placed.
  • Line Placer: Place (draw) the note on the space as indicated by the number below the staff.
  • Space Placer: Place (draw) the note on the space as indicated by the number below the staff.
  • Lines & Spaces: Place (draw) the note on the space as indicated by the number below the staff.
  • Line Helper: Determine which number line the pitch is placed. Circle your answer.
  • Space Helper: Determine which number space the pitch is placed. Circle your answer.
  • Guided Pitch Reading (Treble/Bass Versions): Circle "line or space", "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" and the pitch name.
  • Identify the Pitch (Treble/Bass Versions): Identify the pitches on the staff. Circle your answer below.
  • Clef Drills (Treble/Bass Versions): Identify the pitches on the staff. Write your answer in the box.
  • Reverse Clef Drills (Treble/Bass Versions): Create the pitch on the staff as indicated by the letter in the box.
  • Clef Practice (5 Treble/5 Bass Versions): 24 questions per page. Identify the pitch on the staff and label the answer in the box.
