What educators are saying

This was a great additional activity to pair with our myth unit. I would encourage others to perhaps find different materials in terms of analyzing the texts of the myths, and use this instead as a supplementary item.

Why use this resource?

This resource works great as classroom decor or as notebook inserts. Students love learning about stars and space, especially constellations that they can identify in their backyards. It's fascinating to learn that ancient cultures also looked up at the night sky and they had stories for how these constellations were created. These cards can be used during your Greek or Roman units or your space unit.

How to use:

This resource does not require a ton of prep. Simply print and cut the half sheets. If students are using them as notebook organizers then you may need staples or tape.

Use observations of the sun, moon, and stars to describe patterns that can be predicted. Examples of patterns could include that the sun and moon appear to rise in one part of the sky, move across the sky, and set; and stars other than our sun are visible at night but not during the day. Assessment of star patterns is limited to stars being seen at night and not during the day.
