Mythbusters - Scientific Investigation - Incredible Project! {Editable}

Get ready to take your students on a wild and unforgettable Myth-Busting ride! This project is geared to help students apply the scientific method to myths that have been around for ages! Many of my students enjoy the hit television series “MythBusters,” and I wanted to find a way to incorporate science into practical real-world scenarios. I allow students to choose any realistic myth that can be tested (including movie myths!). Students will submit a proposal (template included), bust or confirm their myth, and put on a show at the culminating MythMania event! If you have inquisitive young minds in your classroom, this project is for you! I designed this project to replace our Science Fair as so many of the projects have been done countless times.

(Note: I do a three-year rotation of Living Wax Museum, Invention Convention, and MythBusters - all of which are now available on our TpT Store. In addition, we also sell an Amazing Roller Coasters project as well!).

CROSS-CURRICULAR: If you are looking for cross-curricular integration, here’s a great way to do it: there are two writing assignments included in the instructions. Work with your language arts teacher to have either one or both of the writing assignments scored as a language arts assessment for style, grammar, etc. In addition, you can have your math instructor work with students on their data that they will gather throughout the completion of this project. Projects truly come to life when students see that they are not just part of one class.
