Content:

Research and Learn Part 1:

Students read about the four different musical instrument types(percussion, brass, woodwind, and string).

Research and Learn Part 2:

Students read more in depth about different types of instruments (drums, flute, and guitar), their history, and how they are played.

Musical Instrument Brainstorm:

On this page students begin to brainstorm their new instrument creation! They discuss and illustrate what musical instrument type it is, what kinds of sounds it makes, how it produces sound, and what genre of music their instrument is featured in. Students also draw an in-progress picture of their instrument creation.

Musical Instrument Creation Page:

Picture- Students draw a picture of their finished design.

Musical Instrument Story:

This activity has students write a story about themselves in a concert or performance using their new musical instrument. They describe in detail what their instrument looks like, how it sounds, and how the audience responds to their performance.
