Music Performance Self Assessment/Personal Music Assessment

The Music Performance Self Assessment is a simple and effective tool for helping your students hone in on areas of their performance and work through some musical self assessment.

There is a short introduction for 'why' self reflection is so important for a musician and 'how' to assess a performance.

Students will assess their progress based on four basic areas of performance: pitch, rhythm, tone, and musicality. It's also flexible so you can expand and explain each category using your expertise for your students.

Students will be able to use a 4 point scale of beginning to mastery to track their progress and reflect on their performance. There is a area for them to provide feedback as well.

I use this sheet with my students throughout the year especially after our winter and spring concerts, class run thru's, personal practice sessions, and rehearsals.
