Music: All About the Piano Keyboard for SMARTboard - revised 2015

This notebook file is a interactive, fun way to introduce the piano keyboard! It offers an introduction to the piano keyboard with the use of fun activities and video links in 17 quality pages.

Your students will learn about the piano keyboard by exploring the different types of keyboard instruments: grand piano, upright piano and electric piano, learn the names of the keys with engaging activities and play a virtual piano. In addition, watch videos of famous pianists including Elton John, Thelonius Monk, Ray Charles, Arturo Rubenstein, and listen to the piano music of female composer Clara Schumann and music from Nannerl Mozart's notebook. A favorite is "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin!

I have used this with 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders, but it spans learning for a wide range of learners, including adults.
