    Class Discussion Reflection Worksheet

    Description

I combined my most popular short story listings into one!

    Eleven (Sandra Cisneros)

These two sets of questions help students deepen their reading comprehension and analysis of this short story. I have used them as a reading guide and as an assessment. I have included a brief True-False review exercise that can be used as a bell ringer, quick quiz, or even an exit ticket - this does not include an answer key - as well as a worksheet for differentiation. Now includes an additional character analysis worksheet (no answer key) for struggling students that gives them an opportunity to practice analyzing quotations and making connections (CSRE)! I have included a sample of the quotation analysis for a character from a different story to give teachers an understanding of the task to help explain the assignment to studentsClipart courtesy of My Cute Graphics.

    Fish Cheeks (Amy Tan)

I use these questions to help my students gain a deeper understanding of Amy Tan's story about identity and assimilation. Questions can be used as a reading guide or as an assessment. This product has just been updated to include a matching vocabulary exercise, two (2) True-False exercises intended as exit tickets (or bell ringers the next day for review) as well as answer keys for both, and a characterization worksheet. This product allows for multiple entry points and a comprehensive look at this story! Clipart courtesy of Illumismart.

So I Ain't No Good Girl (Sharon Flake)

This product contains editable reading comprehension and reading analysis questions for Sharon Flake's story. I have used it as classwork, homework, and an assessment to end a short story unit that focuses on literary elements. It also includes an editable bell ringer - 5 True-False questions and a matching vocabulary exercise - with answer keys as well as a characterization worksheet. This product has just been updated to include two (2) templates to help students write a well-developed paragraph about the main characters and an additional character analysis worksheet (no answer key) to help struggling students practice analyzing quotations and making connections (CSRE).
