What educators are saying

I love having worksheets that go with the documentaries to keep students engaged. Having an answer key is also very helpful - great resource.

Description

Product Overview: If your kids are learning about bioluminescence, or biofluorescence, or you just want them to see a pretty interesting, and cool, science documentary, you might want to preview this video here on YouTube. This is an anticipation guide that follows the video. It will increase engagement and participation by presenting facts that are either true or false that follow the video in sequential order. Don't have time to watch the whole video now? Check out my summary below.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
☛ Brief Video Overview ☚
Your students will understand current scientific research around bioluminescence. First goes over how little we know about bioluminescence, and why it's so hard to capture on video. Students will learn why organisms bioluminesce, and how it helps them survive (get food, thwart predation). The video connects how land creatures also bioluminesce, more than just fireflies, too. Secondly, the video goes into biofluorescence. This part is really cool, and the video will talk about colors in sunlight, wavelengths of light and how they penetrate water, proteins, DNA extraction, DNA replication, and genetically modified organisms. The video connects ocean biofluorescence to studying the human brain, and producing trees that are biofluorescent at night (reducing the need for street lights).
