Description

This Motown Music Study is so much fun and incorporates common core questions to go with each song. My kids start this knowing NATA and leave begging for more.

My Class:

-introduce the song without the video

-discuss with a partner what they heard and how it makes them feel

-I will then introduce the question and we will have a guided discussion

-we will watch video this time and see if our thoughts change or stay the same

-students will go back to the work spots and complete page

What they learned:

-how to interpret song lyrics and think about their meaning

-understand more about African American history

-became educated on various artists who had a positive impact on the world

-how to discuss their feelings with a partner

-understand how things have changed over the years

Their parents LOVED it! They told me their kids were requesting to listen to Motown at home. I call that a WIN WIN for all!

Please give me any feedback.
